Sole Expression: Sneaker Art Workshop

This hands-on art class invites students to turn a simple pair of canvas shoes into a powerful form of self-expression. Through guided instruction, participants will design and create a custom character or meaningful artwork directly on their shoes, learning how to transform everyday items into wearable art. Students will explore foundational art techniques such as sketching, color theory, composition, and painting on fabric using tools like paint, acrylic paint pens, and fabric markers. From concept to completion, each learner will develop a unique design that reflects their personality, story, or vision. In addition to creating their own custom shoes, students will be inspired by an Artist Spotlight featuring creators who have built recognition and income through shoe customization. This segment introduces the idea that art can go beyond a hobby and become a pathway to entrepreneurship and creative confidence. By the end of the class, each participant will leave with a finished pair of personalized shoes, new artistic skills, and a deeper understanding of how creativity can be used for self-expression, healing, and future opportunity.
