4th Grade English

English 4: Language Arts & Composition is a full-year fourth-grade English course that provides a complete language arts foundation through the study and application of grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, and communication skills. The course combines Grammar & Language, Spelling & High-Frequency Words, Vocabulary, Reading & Literature, Writing & Composition, Study & Reference Skills, Speaking & Communication, and Reviews & Assessments. Students will develop strong foundational English skills while learning to apply grammar and language concepts in their reading, writing, and everyday communication. Through a variety of writing projects, reading activities, vocabulary development, research skills, and practical language exercises, students will grow in their ability to read with understanding, write clearly, communicate effectively, and use reference materials independently. This complete English 4 course integrates grammar and writing rather than treating them as separate subjects, allowing students to continually apply what they learn as they develop their skills throughout the year.
