Featured Emerging Poet: Introducing Esther Sayala

Updated: 2 days ago

At Restoration Hope, we believe every story has the power to inspire, heal, and create meaningful change. Through our Spoken Word: Poetry series, we're honored to introduce emerging poets and writers whose words encourage reflection, spark conversation, and remind us that our experiences, both joyful and painful, can become a source of hope for others.

This month, we're proud to feature Esther Sayala, an emerging poet whose work offers an honest and deeply personal look at identity, resilience, love, loss, and the courage it takes to find your own voice.

Born and raised in South Africa, Esther draws inspiration from both her personal journey and the world around her. As a proud woman of color, her experiences have shaped a writing style that is authentic, compassionate, and thought-provoking. Studying poetry throughout her school years ignited her passion for storytelling and taught her that words have the power to preserve history, express emotion, challenge injustice, and inspire meaningful conversations.

Esther's work reflects vulnerability, strength, and the belief that healing often begins when we dare to tell our stories.

We are honored to welcome Esther Sayala to the Restoration Hope family and invite you to read her featured poems. We hope her words encourage you as much as they have encouraged us.
