Guidelines and Rules for the Art Competition
Competition Theme:
The “First Day Feelings” art competition theme invites young artists to explore the exciting mix of emotions that bubble up on the very first day back at school! After a fun summer break, heading back to the classroom can bring all sorts of feelings, and this is your chance to show them through your amazing artwork.
Eligibility:
Open to children aged 5-18 (K-12) residing in the USA. See below for Award Information.
No previous professional experience required.
There are four categories within the 5-18 age group: 5-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-18.
Make sure to submit the artwork in correct category.
Submission Rules for Kid’s Art Competition:
✔️Each Child can submit one entry per competition.
✔️Artwork must be the original work of the participant. We reserve rights to verify the artwork from the art teacher/school.
✔️You must NOT use AI in anyway, or your entry will be disqualified for the competition. No digital artwork is allowed. No Photographs allowed.
✔️Collaborative work is NOT allowed. Kid’s art competition is for individual kids art.
Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, or high-quality photo of a physical piece (e.g., canvas, paper drawing).
How to submit Artwork for Kids’ Art Competitions: Top 5 Dos and Don’ts
✔️Artwork must be entirely hand-drawn.
Allowed mediums are:
Acrylics, Pastels, Pencils, Watercolors, Oil Paints, Crayons.
✔️The artwork should not contain offensive or inappropriate material.
Use of watermarks is discouraged to ensure anonymity in judging.
Artwork must be submitted online through the website’s submission form.
Judging Criteria:
Creativity and Originality: How unique and imaginative is the artist’s approach?
Does the work show an original perspective or creative thought?
Composition and Design: How effectively are the elements of the artwork arranged?
Does the design create a balanced and visually appealing composition?
Use of Color and Technique: How well are colors, tones, and techniques used to enhance the artwork?
Effort and Presentation: Does the artwork show the artist’s effort and attention to detail?
Overall Impact: What is the overall impression of the artwork? Does it evoke emotion or leave a lasting impact?
Awards:
Results are announced in 1-2 Weeks after the deadline.
Each category has three Awards and are judged based on artwork expectations.
Judge’s decision is final.
Winners will receive a physical certificate by mail. With parental permission, their artwork will be showcased in our gallery and featured on our Facebook page. Additionally, the artwork will be published in our quarterly magazine. Detailed information will be sent via email.
