Guardians of the Reef: Sea Turtle & Coral Acrylic Painting

In this immersive art elective lesson, students will explore marine realism by creating a detailed sea turtle and underwater coral painting. Inspired by the detailed drawing techniques of John Magne Lisondra and the luminous underwater marine paintings of Wyland, students will learn how to build texture, depth, and light within an ocean scene using acrylic paint. This lesson strengthens observational skills, layering techniques, color blending, and environmental storytelling through art.
