Brush & Paint: Custom Denim Creations

This hands-on art class is a one day art experience where students transform ordinary denim into bold, custom-designed wearable art. Inspired by modern streetwear and artists like Virgil Abloh, this class teaches students how to turn clothing into a personal canvas. Participants will learn essential techniques used by professional customizers, including sketching designs onto fabric, applying a base layer for vibrant color, color blocking, detailing, and sealing their artwork for long-lasting wear. Using high-quality materials such as Angelus Direct paints, students will create a finished piece they can wear, showcase, or even sell. This class blends creativity, skill-building, and self-expression, giving students the opportunity to design something that reflects their personality, interests, or message. By the end of the session, each student will leave with a one-of-a-kind painted denim piece and the foundational skills to continue customizing clothing on their own.
